Andrew Rice is the co-founder and COO at Education Analytics, a nonprofit data science and research startup in Madison, Wisconsin. He works with large urban school districts, labor organizations, national educational organizations, and state and national educational departments to assist in data analysis and policy. Rice is an expert in "student growth metric" methodology, including value-added models, student growth percentile models, and other techniques for determining growth projections for students. He previously worked at the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University and at the Value Added Research Center at the University of Wisconsin—Madison. Rice received his PhD in economics from Pennsylvania State University.
