Thomas Timar is professor emeritus in the UC Davis School of Education. He also served as director of the UC Davis Center for Applied Policy Analysis for California Education and was a member of the steering committee for Policy Analysis for California Education. His areas of expertise include education finance, policy, and governance. Before coming to UC Davis, he was an associate professor at the University of California, Riverside. He received his PhD in educational policy (law and finance) from the University of California, Berkeley.
