Minahil Asim is a postdoctoral fellow at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include evaluating information-based interventions for teachers, parents, and communities to improve academic achievement and the home-learning environment for students. Ongoing projects include investigating the role of information to strengthen local governance of schools in Punjab, Pakistan; a study of distributional effects of a literacy-based intervention targeted at parents and communities in Rwanda; an analysis of patterns of math course-taking by high school students in California; and an experiment to measure the impact of teacher expectations on student effort in the classroom in Pakistan. She received her PhD from the School Organization and Education Policy program at the University of California, Davis.
