Jan Brown, MEd, was a program director at the Center for Improving Child Care on the Quality Research Team in the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. She was also the founder and president of TEACH Rwanda; a director of the Desired Results Project at the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at the former UCLA Department of Education; a consultant with Art as a Way of Learning with Northampton Community College; and a managing editor for Crayola. She worked as editor of Young Children, director of publications for the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and as editor of Dimensions of Early Childhood. Since retirement, Brown regularly volunteers with Head Start in the Lehigh Valley.
