Catherine Bitter is a senior researcher for American Institutes for Research. Her work has focused on K–12 school reform, accountability, literacy instruction, and district reform. She has directed a wide range of research studies and led data collection and analysis tasks to inform district and school-level improvement efforts. She was previously a chemistry teacher at the Phillips Academy. She received her BSE in chemical engineering from Princeton University and her MA in education from Stanford University.
