Andrew McEachin is a policy researcher in the economics, statistics, and sociology department at the RAND Corporation and a professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. His research focuses on using advanced quantitative methods to study the causes of persistent achievement gaps, as well as evaluating the impact of common efforts to reduce these gaps, such as standards-based accountability, school choice initiatives, teacher labor markets, and curricular intensification. He was previously an assistant professor of education policy at North Carolina State University and an Institute of Education Sciences postdoctoral fellow at the University of Virginia's Curry School of Education. He received his PhD in urban education policy from the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California.
